One company, one login, three products that share their numbers
SeroPOS
The point of sale built for the rush.
Point of sale for restaurants and retail — tables, kitchen tickets, inventory, loyalty and online ordering on iPad, Android, Windows and Mac.
SeroBooks
The books, the store, the bank. One ledger.
Accounting that runs the whole business — invoicing, inventory, banking, sales tax, payroll and year-end for Canada and the United States.
SeroPayroll
Payroll for every province. Right to the cent.
Canadian payroll for all 13 provinces and territories — CPP, EI, QPP, vacation, stat holidays, remittances, T4s and ROEs.
Two different philosophies
Toast, as of 2026 per its public site, is built specifically for restaurants and pairs its software with its own hardware and payment processing. That integrated package is a big part of its appeal: one vendor, purpose-built devices and a large restaurant customer base. It also means changing processors or hardware later is harder, because the pieces come together.
SeroPOS keeps those pieces separate. You run it on devices you choose, pick your processor, and use the same app whether you run a café, a pizzeria or a grocery counter next door. For restaurant groups that also sell packaged goods or merchandise, one app for both sides removes a second system and a second set of reports.
Restaurant features side by side
SeroPOS covers what a busy service needs: drag-and-drop floor plans with live table status, kitchen order tickets and a kitchen display, nested modifier groups with upcharges, combos, hold and resume, split bills by seat, percentage or item, mixed tender and tips. Dine-in, take-away and delivery order types sit on the same sale screen.
Behind the line, recipes with ingredient-level costing on SeroPOS Pro show what each dish really costs. QR self-ordering and an online store take orders without marketplace commission, and SeroBot answers the phone using your live menu and hours and can take reservations, which keeps staff on the floor during the rush instead of on the phone.

Delivery apps
SeroPOS handles delivery-platform menu and order management, and delivery orders run through the same kitchen tickets and display as everything else. A direct Uber Eats integration is rolling out in Canada and isn’t generally available yet. We don’t claim live DoorDash, Skip or Grubhub integrations today, and we’ll say so plainly when that changes.
If deep, live delivery-app integration across several platforms is essential to your restaurant right now, check what each provider actually supports in your city before you decide, and ask for a demonstration with your platforms. Delivery integrations vary a lot by market, and the details matter more than the logos on a website.
When Toast may be the better fit
If you want one vendor to supply restaurant hardware, software and payments as a single package, and you value restaurant-specific tooling above flexibility, Toast is a strong option. It has a large restaurant customer base in the US, purpose-built hardware designed for kitchens, and a broad partner ecosystem built around restaurant operations.
Toast may also suit groups that want its particular add-ons for marketing, payroll, delivery or guest management where those are offered in their market. If you’re happy with Toast’s processing rates and don’t plan to sell retail alongside food, its focus can be an advantage. Check their current plans for what’s included.
Accounting and payroll
SeroPOS posts sales into SeroBooks, so revenue, tax, tips and food costs land in a real double-entry ledger with 160+ reports, Canadian sales tax for every province and US sales tax with nexus tracking. Prefer QuickBooks Online or Xero? SeroPOS Pro syncs to both, so your accountant can keep the ledger they know.
For staff, SeroPayroll covers every Canadian province and territory from $25/mo for up to 10 employees, with vacation pay, statutory holidays and overtime calculated by each province’s rules. SeroBooks Pro adds US payroll on the same ledger. Restaurants get one family of products instead of several vendors that each need connecting.
