Retail POS that keeps the shelf and the till in step

Checkout that keeps up
Retail checkout is a scanning job, and every second at the counter is felt by the queue. SeroPOS reads barcodes from standard scanners, finds variations such as size and colour, and applies the right price for the customer’s group automatically. Discounts, loyalty redemption, returns and refunds happen on the same screen, with role-based permissions deciding which of those a cashier can do without calling a manager.
Receipts print on ESC/POS printers or go out by email or SMS, which also helps build a customer list with permission. Hold and resume lets a cashier park one sale and serve the next customer while the first runs back for something they forgot, and the parked sale comes back with every line and discount intact.
Inventory that matches the shelf
Every sale updates stock in real time. Low-stock alerts flag what needs reordering, and purchase orders go to suppliers straight from that list. When stock arrives, you receive it against the order and the counts update immediately. Adjustments and transfers, each with a reason, handle breakage, theft, samples and moving goods between locations, so shrinkage shows up in reports rather than disappearing.
For regulated or perishable goods, lot and expiry tracking records which batch was sold and warns about stock nearing its date before it becomes a write-off. Excel import and export makes it practical to load a large catalogue, update hundreds of prices at once or reconcile a full physical count without typing every line into the app by hand.

Customers, pricing and loyalty
Customer profiles and groups let you set price groups for wholesale buyers, staff or members, and the right price appears at checkout without the cashier remembering who qualifies. Loyalty points accrue on each purchase and can be redeemed at the counter. The built-in CRM tracks leads, campaigns, follow-ups and call logs for shops that sell to repeat or trade customers over several conversations.
Repair shops can use job cards to track devices in for service, from intake to pickup. Gift shops, jewellers and boutiques can keep a clear purchase history for each regular, which makes it easier to suggest the matching piece, honour a return without a receipt or invite good customers to a private sale.
When retail needs real accounting
SeroPOS includes double-entry accounting and syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero on the Pro plan. Retailers who outgrow that move to SeroBooks, which treats inventory as inventory: serial numbers, batch and expiry, warehouse bins, stock valuation, assemblies, landed cost and demand forecasting with two lead times, all posting to one double-entry ledger rather than a separate stock tool.
Because SeroBooks grew out of SeroPOS, sales at the till can reach the ledger with their cost of goods attached. Your gross margin is then based on what was actually sold and what it actually cost, rather than an estimate adjusted at year end once your accountant finally counts the stock.
Frequently asked questions
Can SeroPOS track sizes and colours?
Yes. Products can have variations such as size, colour or style, and each variation has its own stock count and barcode. Reports show which variations sell and which sit on the shelf, which helps clothing and footwear stores reorder the right sizes instead of buying the whole size run again.
Does SeroPOS sync with Shopify?
Yes. SeroPOS has a two-way Shopify sync and also connects to WooCommerce and Amazon, so products and stock stay aligned between your physical store and your online channels. ShipStation is supported for shipping online orders, and the same stock count is used whether an item sells in person or online.
Is SeroPOS suitable for a pharmacy or grocery store?
SeroPOS supports lot and expiry tracking, which pharmacies and grocers use to manage batches and dated stock. It also handles barcode scanning, price groups and low-stock alerts. Pharmacies should confirm any provincial or state dispensing requirements separately, because SeroPOS is a retail point of sale rather than dispensary software.
What does a retail POS from Sero cost?
SeroPOS Standard is $29.99 a month and Pro is $49.99 a month, in USD, each with a 14-day free trial and no credit card. Pro adds QuickBooks and Xero sync and advanced reporting. If you need full accounting with inventory valuation, serials and bins, SeroBooks starts at $79.99 a month.
Can I print barcode labels?
Yes. SeroPOS supports label printing, so you can print barcode labels for products that arrive unlabelled, for items you package yourself or for clearance stickers. SeroBooks also prints barcode labels from the inventory side, which suits warehouses and wholesalers receiving large deliveries.
