Counter speed is the whole business

In quick service, a few seconds per order adds up to a lost lunch rush. SeroPOS keeps the sale screen tight: combos as single buttons, modifier groups that prompt for the choices that matter, and drag-and-drop layouts so your best sellers sit on the first page. Dine-in and take-away modes are a tap, and tips and mixed tender happen at the same screen.

Hold and resume orders for the customer who is still deciding, and split payments when a group pays separately without holding up the person behind them. Email and SMS receipts cut printer paper, and the cash drawer opens only on the actions your role permissions allow, so a new cashier on day one cannot accidentally issue a refund.

  • Combos with upsize and side-swap modifiers
  • Dine-in, take-away and delivery order modes
  • Role-based permissions on voids, refunds and discounts
  • Register Z-reports and shift closes

A kitchen queue built for volume

Orders route to kitchen printers as KOTs or to a kitchen display, so the line works from one ordered list instead of shouted calls. Structured modifiers mean “no pickles” is a line on the ticket, not a scribble, which keeps remakes down at exactly the moment when speed matters most and a wrong order costs you twice.

Because QR self-orders and online catalogue orders drop into the same POS queue, the kitchen never has to reconcile a second tablet or retype an order. For third-party delivery, SeroPOS provides delivery-platform menu and order management, and a direct Uber Eats integration is rolling out in Canada, which will bring those orders into the same flow.

Running more than one location

QSR brands tend to grow by adding stores, and SeroPOS includes chain store management on the Standard plan. Consolidated chain reporting puts every location’s sales, tax and stock side by side, and stock transfers move product between stores with a record on both ends, so the commissary and each store agree on what was sent.

AI sales forecasting gives each manager a starting point for prep and staffing based on sales history. Price groups let you handle airport or campus pricing at one store without duplicating the menu, and cloud backup and restore protects each location’s data if a terminal is dropped, stolen or simply replaced with a newer device.

Food cost, crew and accounting

Recipe management on SeroPOS Pro links menu items to ingredients so each sale draws down stock with ingredient-level costing. Purchase orders and supplier records keep ordering consistent between managers, low-stock alerts flag shortages before peak, and stock adjustments record waste so the gap between theoretical and actual food cost is visible.

For crew, SeroPOS tracks attendance and shifts, and SeroPayroll runs Canadian payroll with CPP, EI, overtime and stat holidays by province, from $25 a month for up to 10 employees with higher tiers for larger teams. Sales post to SeroPOS’s built-in double-entry accounting and can sync to QuickBooks Online, Xero or SeroBooks.

Frequently asked questions

Is SeroPOS suitable for fast food restaurants?

Yes. SeroPOS lists quick service among the restaurant formats it is built for, with combos, nested modifiers, a kitchen display and kitchen printers, QR and online ordering, and offline mode. Standard is $29.99 USD a month and Pro is $49.99 USD a month, each with a 14-day free trial and no contract.

Can I manage multiple QSR locations in one account?

Yes. Chain store management is included on the Standard plan, with consolidated chain reporting and stock transfers between locations. Each additional location is an add-on. Role-based permissions let you give store managers access to their own location without exposing the whole chain’s settings.

Does SeroPOS have self-order kiosks?

SeroPOS offers QR self-ordering, where guests scan a code and order on their own phone, plus an online store with cart and checkout. A dedicated kiosk hardware mode is not part of the published feature list, so QR ordering is the self-service option to plan around today.

Which payment terminals work with SeroPOS?

For card-present payments SeroPOS supports Global Payments (recommended, with the Verifone T650p terminal), Moneris and Gravity Payments. Online and QR orders can use Stripe or PayPal. Sero says it will beat your current processing rate, so it is worth bringing a recent statement.

How do I pay QSR crew in Canada?

Use SeroPayroll, Sero’s Canadian payroll app. It covers all 13 provinces and territories, with CPP, EI, income tax, vacation pay, statutory holidays and overtime by each statute, plus T4s and ROEs. Starter covers up to 10 employees at $25 a month and Team covers 11 to 50 at $50 a month.
