A floor plan that matches your room
Table management starts with an accurate map of the room. In SeroPOS you build floor plans by drag and drop, placing tables, booths and bar seats where they actually are. Separate areas such as the dining room, patio and bar each get their own layout, and you can adjust them when you push tables together for a large party or open the patio for the summer season.
Once the layout is set, staff tap a table to open or continue its order. No more guessing which ticket belongs to table 12, which server has the booth by the window, or whether the couple on the patio already ordered dessert. The table is the order, and everyone on shift sees the same picture of the room.
Live status for hosts and managers
Each table shows its status live, so hosts can see what is free, what is seated and what is waiting on the bill without leaving the host stand. That makes it easier to quote realistic wait times, seat walk-ins in the right section and turn tables at a steady pace instead of letting the room fill and empty in waves that overwhelm the kitchen.
Managers get the same view from any device, which helps them spot a table that has been waiting too long for food or a section that is overloaded while another server stands idle. After the shift, staff performance reports show sales by server, so managers can plan sections and schedules around how the room actually ran.
- Open, seated and bill-requested states at a glance
- Hold and resume orders across a shift
- Move orders between tables when guests change seats
Settling the bill
When the table is ready to pay, SeroPOS splits bills evenly, by percentage, by item or by custom amounts. Each guest can pay by cash or card, and tips are captured against the right payment so tip reports stay accurate. Discounts and loyalty redemptions apply to the right part of the bill, and a guest who leaves early can settle their share without closing the table.
Card payments run on supported terminals, including the Global Payments Verifone T650p, a wireless Android device with a built-in printer that can be brought to the table so the card never leaves the guest’s sight. Moneris and Gravity Payments terminals are also supported if you already work with those processors.
Reservations by phone with SeroBot
Many reservations still arrive by phone, usually at the worst possible moment in the middle of service. SeroBot, the AI phone assistant inside SeroPOS, answers calls using your live menu and hours and takes reservations, so hosts and servers are not pulled off the floor to answer the same questions about parking, patio seating and closing time over and over again.
Combined with the live floor plan, your team knows what is booked and what is free, and the phone stops being a constant interruption. Because SeroBot reads from SeroPOS, changes you make to hours or the menu are reflected in what callers hear without anyone updating a separate script or voicemail greeting.
Frequently asked questions
Can I design my own floor plan in SeroPOS?
Yes. SeroPOS has drag-and-drop floor plans where you place tables, booths and seats in the layout of your room. You can create separate areas such as the main dining room, patio and bar, and adjust layouts whenever you rearrange seating for large parties, events or the summer patio season.
Does SeroPOS take reservations?
SeroBot, the AI voice assistant inside SeroPOS, answers your restaurant’s phone using your live menu and hours and takes reservations. That keeps hosts and servers on the floor during service instead of answering repeated calls, and the live floor plan helps staff seat walk-ins around booked tables.
Can guests split the bill by seat or item?
Bills can be split evenly, by percentage, by item or by custom amounts, and each part can be paid with its own tender. That covers groups who want to pay for what they ordered as well as those who split the total, and tips are recorded against each payment separately.
Can I move an order to another table?
Yes. Orders can be held, resumed and moved, so if guests move from the bar to a table or change seats partway through the meal, their order follows them without being re-entered. Items already sent to the kitchen stay on the order, and nothing is charged twice.
Is table management available on the Standard plan?
Floor plans and live table status are part of SeroPOS. Standard is $29.99 a month and Pro is $49.99 a month in USD, and both include a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Pro adds recipe management, advanced reporting and QuickBooks and Xero sync for restaurants that need them.
