Why Amazon accounting is hard
An Amazon deposit is not a sale. It is a settlement: sales minus referral fees, fulfilment fees, storage, advertising, refunds and reimbursements, sometimes with tax Amazon collected on your behalf mixed in. Posting the deposit as revenue understates your sales and hides your costs, while posting every order by hand is not realistic for a seller shipping hundreds of units a week.
SeroBooks for Amazon connects through Amazon’s Selling Partner API and posts each settlement properly, with fees itemized and order-day invoicing, so revenue and costs land in the periods they belong to. The settlement then matches the deposit in your bank account, and month-end stops being an exercise in downloading reports from Seller Central.
Tax, ads and true profit
Amazon acts as a marketplace facilitator in many jurisdictions, collecting and remitting tax on your behalf. SeroBooks splits that tax out so you do not report or remit it again. In Canada, the rest of your GST, HST, PST and QST is handled in the Sales Tax Centre; in the US, economic nexus is watched across all 50 states for your direct sales.
Amazon Ads, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display, connect through the Amazon Ads integration, so advertising spend sits on the P&L where it belongs and TACOS shows advertising as a share of total sales. That makes it much easier to see whether a product is genuinely profitable once its ad spend is counted.

Inventory and replenishment
Amazon inventory sits in fulfilment centres you do not control, which makes stock valuation and reorder timing harder than in your own warehouse. SeroBooks tracks inbound shipments, values inventory in the ledger and forecasts demand, so you can plan replenishment before you stock out and lose sales ranking that can take weeks to recover.
Sellers who also run a shop, a trade counter or a market stall can use SeroPOS, which syncs with Amazon as well as Shopify and WooCommerce. Stock then reflects every channel, and sales from the counter and the marketplace end up in the same SeroBooks ledger rather than in separate systems reconciled by hand.
Replacing several tools
Many sellers combine a settlement connector such as A2X or Webgility, a profit dashboard such as Sellerboard and a separate planning tool, then still need accounting software on top. SeroBooks for Amazon is designed to replace that stack with one ledger. It is $150 a month or $1,500 a year in USD and includes core accounting, with a 14-day free trial.
Already on SeroBooks Starter, Standard or Pro? Add the Amazon module for $100 a month instead. SeroBooks for Amazon is built for North American marketplaces only, meaning Amazon.ca, Amazon.com and Amazon.com.mx, and is not intended for sellers whose main business is on European or Asian Amazon sites, at least for now.
Frequently asked questions
How much does SeroBooks for Amazon cost?
SeroBooks for Amazon is $150 a month or $1,500 a year in USD and includes core accounting. If you already use another SeroBooks plan, the Amazon module is a $100 a month add-on. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, so you can post real settlements before paying.
Which Amazon marketplaces are supported?
SeroBooks for Amazon supports Amazon.ca, Amazon.com and Amazon.com.mx. It is designed for North American sellers and does not cover European or Asian marketplaces. Sellers on several North American marketplaces can keep all of them in one SeroBooks ledger, with each settlement posted separately.
Can SeroBooks replace A2X?
SeroBooks for Amazon posts settlements with fees itemized, splits marketplace-facilitator tax and handles returns and reimbursements, which is the job a settlement connector like A2X or Webgility does. It also adds Ads, TACOS, forecasting and full accounting in the same ledger.
Does SeroBooks track Amazon Ads spend?
Yes. Through the Amazon Ads integration, SeroBooks brings in Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display spend, puts it on the P&L and reports TACOS, total advertising cost of sale, so you can judge each product’s real profit after advertising is counted.
How does SeroBooks handle Amazon’s tax collection?
Where Amazon collects tax as a marketplace facilitator, SeroBooks splits that amount out of the settlement so it is not reported again on your own return. Your remaining Canadian or US sales tax obligations are handled in the SeroBooks Sales Tax Centre.
