Amazon integration for seller accounting

Amazon money, accounted for
An Amazon deposit is never just sales. It nets out referral fees, FBA fees, storage, advertising, refunds, reimbursements and sometimes tax Amazon collected on your behalf. Recording the deposit as revenue understates your sales, hides your costs and turns sales tax filings into guesswork. It also makes it nearly impossible to tell which products actually earn money.
SeroBooks reads Amazon data through SP-API and posts each settlement with its parts separated. Revenue, each fee type, refunds, reimbursements and tax land in the right accounts, and the net amount matches what hit the bank. Your accountant can reconcile the deposit in seconds, and your P&L shows Amazon’s costs line by line instead of as one mysterious number.
Tax handled the way Amazon collects it
In many US states and Canadian provinces, Amazon acts as the marketplace facilitator and collects and remits tax itself. That tax shouldn’t sit in your liability accounts, and it shouldn’t be counted as your revenue either. SeroBooks splits marketplace-facilitator tax from tax you’re responsible for, so your returns reflect only what you actually owe in each jurisdiction.
Order-day invoicing records sales on the day the order happened rather than the day the settlement closed. Settlement periods rarely line up with calendar months, so this keeps monthly revenue accurate across settlement boundaries. Month-end and year-end figures then match what really happened in the period, which matters for tax, for lenders and for your own planning.
Beyond bookkeeping
SeroBooks for Amazon also covers inventory: inbound shipments, storage, stock valuation, demand forecasting with two lead times, and replenishment planning. With Amazon Ads connected, ad spend and TACOS appear on the P&L next to the sales they drove. Returns and reimbursements are tracked against the orders they belong to, so missing reimbursements are easier to spot.
Sellers often stitch together a settlement tool such as A2X or Webgility, a profit dashboard such as Sellerboard and a planning spreadsheet. SeroBooks for Amazon is built to replace that combination with one ledger and one login. Fewer tools means fewer subscriptions, fewer exports and fewer places for the numbers to disagree with each other.

Plans and pricing
SeroBooks for Amazon is $150/mo or $1,500/yr in USD, and includes core accounting: invoicing, bills, bank reconciliation, sales tax and financial statements. Sellers on other SeroBooks plans can add the Amazon module for $100/mo. Every plan has a 14-day free trial, which is enough time to connect Seller Central and post a few settlements.
SeroPOS also offers an Amazon sync for retailers who sell on Amazon and in a physical shop, so marketplace and counter sales share one inventory. SeroBooks for Amazon covers North American marketplaces only: Amazon.ca, Amazon.com and Amazon.com.mx. European, UK and Asian marketplaces aren’t supported today, and we’d rather say so up front than have you find out after connecting.
Frequently asked questions
How does SeroBooks connect to Amazon?
SeroBooks connects through Amazon’s Selling Partner API (SP-API). You authorize the connection from Seller Central, and SeroBooks reads settlements, orders, fees, refunds and reimbursements to post them to your ledger with each part in its own account. It supports Amazon.ca, Amazon.com and Amazon.com.mx.
Does SeroBooks replace A2X or Webgility?
SeroBooks for Amazon is built to replace a settlement tool like A2X or Webgility, plus a profit dashboard and planning tools, with one ledger. Settlements, fees, tax, inventory, ads and forecasting all live in SeroBooks rather than in separate connected apps that each need their own subscription and maintenance.
How much does SeroBooks for Amazon cost?
SeroBooks for Amazon costs $150 a month or $1,500 a year in USD and includes core accounting. If you’re already on another SeroBooks plan, the Amazon module is a $100 a month add-on. There’s a 14-day free trial, so you can connect Seller Central and check a few settlements before paying.
Does it handle marketplace facilitator tax?
Yes. SeroBooks separates tax that Amazon collects and remits as a marketplace facilitator from tax you’re responsible for yourself. That keeps your sales tax liability accounts accurate, stops facilitator tax inflating your revenue, and limits your returns to what you actually owe in each province or state.
Does it work for Amazon marketplaces outside North America?
No. SeroBooks for Amazon covers Amazon.ca, Amazon.com and Amazon.com.mx. It doesn’t currently support European, UK or Asian Amazon marketplaces. If you sell in those regions as well, you would need a separate approach for them, while North American activity runs through SeroBooks.
