Shipping without a second system of record
Retailers who ship orders often end up with three systems: the online store, the shipping tool and the POS. Each has its own view of stock and orders, and someone reconciles them by hand at the end of the day. Mistakes creep in as volume grows, and nobody is sure which system holds the true count.
With the ShipStation integration, SeroPOS stays the system of record for products, stock and sales. Orders that need shipping go to ShipStation for carrier selection, labels and tracking, and the rest of the business keeps working from SeroPOS. ShipStation does what it’s good at, shipping, without becoming another place to manage inventory.
How orders flow
Orders come in from your SeroPOS online store or through the Shopify, WooCommerce or Amazon integrations. Shipping orders go to ShipStation with the customer’s address and items attached, so nobody copies details between screens. Pickup orders stay in the SeroPOS web-order queue, where the counter team can see what’s waiting and mark it collected.
Inventory is reduced in SeroPOS when the order is placed, so the counter, the website and the marketplace all see the same quantity. That matters most for fast-moving or limited items, where the gap between an online order and a manual stock update is exactly when the last unit gets sold twice.

- Shipping orders sent to ShipStation
- Label printed, tracking sent to the customer
Inventory and purchasing behind it
SeroPOS inventory covers real-time counts, low-stock alerts, purchase orders, suppliers, transfers between locations, adjustments, and lot and expiry tracking. Shipping volume doesn’t change how stock is managed, so you don’t run a separate warehouse count for online orders. Reorder decisions reflect everything you sell, wherever it was sold, and stocktakes cover one number per item.
For product businesses with deeper needs, such as warehouse bins, serial numbers, landed cost or demand forecasting with two lead times, SeroBooks adds those on the same ledger. Many growing e-commerce brands start with SeroPOS and add SeroBooks once purchasing and valuation become more involved, without changing how orders flow to ShipStation.
Getting started
Connect ShipStation from SeroPOS, choose which order types and channels to send, and test with a few orders before switching on everything. Your ShipStation account, carriers, packaging presets and label settings stay as they are, so your shipping team doesn’t need to relearn anything on their side. Only the source of the orders changes.
SeroPOS has a 14-day free trial with no credit card and runs on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and Mac. Standard is $29.99/mo and Pro is $49.99/mo in USD, with no contracts or onboarding fees. The in-app knowledge base and live chat can help if you need a hand setting up the connection.
Frequently asked questions
Does SeroPOS integrate with ShipStation?
Yes. SeroPOS sends online orders that need shipping to ShipStation, where you choose a carrier, buy labels and send tracking to the customer. Inventory stays in SeroPOS, so the counter and online channels share one stock count and ShipStation doesn’t become a second inventory system.
Do I need a ShipStation account?
Yes. The integration connects SeroPOS to your own ShipStation account. Your carriers, rates, packaging presets and label settings are managed in ShipStation as usual, and ShipStation bills you directly for its service. SeroPOS simply sends it the orders that need shipping.
Which sales channels work with ShipStation?
Orders from the SeroPOS online store and from the Shopify, WooCommerce and Amazon integrations can be routed to ShipStation. Pickup orders stay in the SeroPOS order queue for your counter team. You choose which order types go to ShipStation during setup.
Where is inventory managed?
Inventory is managed in SeroPOS, including purchase orders, transfers, adjustments and low-stock alerts. ShipStation handles shipping, not stock, so you don’t need to keep a second inventory count. Stock is reduced in SeroPOS when the order is placed, before it reaches ShipStation.
How are shipping sales recorded in the books?
Sales are recorded in SeroPOS and flow to SeroBooks, or to QuickBooks Online and Xero on SeroPOS Pro. Shipping charges collected from customers and the shipping costs you pay can be recorded in their own accounts, so you can see whether shipping pays for itself.
