Where Stripe fits in Sero
Stripe is one of nine payment gateways SeroPOS supports, and it’s the main option for online and QR payments in North America. When customers order from your online store or scan a QR code at the table, they pay with Stripe and the order lands in SeroPOS with the payment attached, ready for the kitchen or for fulfilment.
In SeroBooks, Stripe powers card payments on invoices. A customer opens the invoice, pays by card, and the payment is applied to that invoice, so accounts receivable stays current without anyone matching payments by hand. For businesses that send dozens of invoices a month, that alone can save hours of bookkeeping and shorten the time it takes to get paid.
Online and QR ordering with Stripe
SeroPOS includes an online catalogue with cart and checkout, plus QR self-ordering for dine-in. Both use Stripe for payment, so there’s no separate e-commerce platform to set up or maintain. Orders go to the web-order queue and to kitchen tickets or the kitchen display, where they join dine-in and take-away orders in one line.
Menu, modifiers, prices and availability come from SeroPOS, so the online menu always matches the one at the counter. Change a price once and it updates everywhere. Mark an item as sold out and it disappears from the QR menu too, which avoids the awkward moment of refunding a guest who ordered something the kitchen can’t make.

Getting paid faster on invoices
For wholesale, trades and professional services, waiting on cheques slows cash flow. SeroBooks invoices can be paid by card through Stripe, and customer statements show what’s still outstanding. Payments are recorded as received and applied to the right invoice, so the A/R ageing report reflects reality and your collections calls go to the right customers.
Stripe payouts arrive net of fees. Recording the gross payment and the processing fee separately in SeroBooks makes bank reconciliation straightforward, because the deposit amount is explained line by line. It also keeps processing costs visible on the P&L, where you can weigh them against the benefit of being paid days or weeks sooner.
In-store card payments
For card-present payments at the counter, SeroPOS uses terminal partners: Global Payments, which is the recommended option with the Verifone T650p, plus Moneris and Gravity Payments. SeroBooks supports Global Payments and Moneris terminals too, for counter sales and invoice payments taken in person. We offer to beat your current processing rate if you send us a statement.
Many businesses use a terminal partner in store and Stripe online, with both reporting into the same SeroPOS and SeroBooks ledger. Each appears as its own tender in shift and Z-reports, so you can see how much came through each channel and match each processor’s deposits to the sales that produced them.
Frequently asked questions
Does SeroPOS work with Stripe?
Yes. SeroPOS uses Stripe for online store checkout and QR self-ordering. Customers pay by card on their phone or computer, and the order arrives in SeroPOS with the payment attached, ready for the kitchen or for fulfilment. Stripe payments appear as their own tender in SeroPOS reports for easy reconciliation.
Can my customers pay SeroBooks invoices with Stripe?
Yes. SeroBooks supports card payments on invoices through Stripe. When a customer pays, the payment is applied to the invoice and your accounts receivable updates, so you don’t have to match payments by hand. Customer statements then show only what’s genuinely still outstanding.
Can I use Stripe for in-store card payments?
For card-present payments, SeroPOS works with terminal partners: Global Payments with the Verifone T650p terminal, Moneris, and Gravity Payments. Stripe is used for online and QR payments. Both feed the same reports and the same ledger, so every tender is accounted for in one place.
Does Sero store my customers’ card numbers?
No. Card data is handled by the payment processor. For online payments that’s Stripe, and for in-store payments card data stays inside the certified terminal. Sero records the payment amount, tender and status for reporting and accounting, but never the full card number.
How are Stripe fees recorded?
Stripe pays out net of its fees. In SeroBooks you can record the gross payment and the processing fee separately, which makes bank reconciliation easier because each deposit is fully explained. It also keeps payment costs visible on your P&L instead of hidden inside a smaller revenue figure.
